Take us through a usual day for you?

Give my husband a kiss, and my dog a cuddle.

I get up and mediate for at least 20-40 minutes

Do 5 minutes of jumping for joy just about every morning

I do an instagram post saying good morning to the world (Instagram: theresekerr) and sending out a positive affirmation

I go for a 40 minute walk which includes quick sprints just about every day

I have already made my healthy "juice-thie" (my own combination of a juice and a smoothie) the night before so Johnny takes his "Juice-thie" to work with him and I have mine for breakfast. See for my alkaline rich, power packed "juice-thie" recipe.

I complete my gratitude journal (Note I have a gratitude journal on my website for everyone to say what they are grateful for and anyone around the world can use this to say what they are grateful for)

I check my emails or go to appointments/meetings if applicable

I work on my projects

Take a break for lunch and most often have more "Juice-thie" for lunch

I continue to work on my projects, in between giving my little dog a hug and having a little time out

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have a personal trainer come to my house in the mornings for an hour.

I work on my projects after lunch

Organise a nice dinner (duck out to get certified organic produce regularly)

Have a lovely soak in a bath with epsom salts and essential oils

Complete my gratitude journal

Snuggle up in bed by 9:00pm most nights

Do an instagram post of an evening to say goodnight and to send out a positive message to the universe

With your smoothies you quickly blanched your kale, tell us why you think we should eat cooked Kale?

With my smoothies or "Juithies" I quickly blanch the kale so as to take the harshness away from it. I blanch it by simply boiling the jug, placing the kale in my "Cookut" environmentally friendly cookware and pour the boiling water over the kale and leave for around 2 – 3 minutes allowing the kale to soften.

What are your top 5 ingredients to always have in the kitchen?

All certified organic

1. Coconut Oil

2. Quinoa

3. Eggs

4. Market fresh certified organic fruit and vege's

5. Savoury Yeast Flakes

What started you down this journey of a conscious life not only in your eating choices but lifestyle as well?

The turning point in my life was when I lost my spleen due to tumours. I always thought I was healthy but I never truly understood the impact of applying chemical-laden products to my skin or eating non-certified or market-fresh produce. I also never truly understood the impact of stress or suppressed emotions on the human body – I now do. Having tumours in my spleen inspired me to truly look at my life in every aspect, to question my life in the fullest detail to transform many areas of my life. Things happen to us in our past and I share a lot of my story in my new soon-to-be-released book “Live, loving you – living from the heart”.

The challenge is that we make those things “mean” something about us. As human beings, we are “meaning making machines” and unfortunately we live into the story we create and our story becomes our reality and most of the time the “story” is so just that “a story”. My mum died when I was 17 and pregnant with Miranda.

When mum died I created a “story” that firstly because I fell pregnant in the first place I was an embarrassment to her and secondly that I would prove to her that I could be anything she had hoped I could be. Basically, when mum died all I wanted was to make her proud of me.

So for twenty odd years, I worked my backside off, always striving to be the best I could be with an attitude that I could do anything but I never understood, until I did a lot of work on myself, why I was so driven. You see, the story became my reality. The truth is mum died and she would have been proud of me anyway.

I have done so much work on myself over the past twelve to thirteen years. I am not the same person I was and I will continue to evolve in every minute to hopefully always be a better version of me. I have true power in my life over my past, I have a calm and a peace within me that I never thought was possible, even when difficult things happen, I am still at peace and know that it is all part of the bigger picture of my life and whatever happens, happens because there is a lesson to be learned and an opportunity for growth on a personal level.

I am blessed to live a life I love, because I choose to live a life I love and create my “being” every day. After all, we are human beings, not human doings and by choosing our “being” we get to say how life goes moment by moment and that is such a blessing.

Further, health happens by choice, not by accident. We cannot live in today’s society and expect health to fall in our lap, that won’t happen. With the highly refined, highly processed, high sugar-content foods that most people fill their body with, and that coupled with the amount of chemicals, preservatives, colourings, etc that traditional food and personal care products contain, our bodies are basically working over time just to survive, let alone prosper. Just about everyone’s liver is so taxed at trying to rid their body of toxins that it can’t perform vital roles like breaking down fat and chemicals, toxins etc in our body effect all of our organs and every part of us.

Personally, I want to be around for a long time, but I only want to be around for a long time if I am healthy and enjoying life. I am 48, my mum died of a heart attack as a result of over work, stress and possibly genetics at the age of 50. I want to be around and be vibrant, lit up and alive by life. I have been told that our cells have the ability to live to an average age of 122, yet how many people live anywhere near that?

Simply “choosing health” even when you have a super active, busy life is the answer. I am committed to my health (mind, body and spirit) and I am further committed to continually gaining and then sharing knowledge – the purpose of my website is to do just that – share information such that people can take from the information, anything that serves, leave behind what doesn’t and in the process, hopefully, leave with the ability to at least make informed choices for their own personal health and the health of their family. I intend to be a vibrant, spontaneous great great grandmother.

What would be your top 5 tips for people who want to start thinking more consciously about what they put in their body and how they interact with their peers & community?

1. Be kind to each other. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Understand that most people are simply doing the best with what they have, if they knew better they would do better. Understand, (no right or wrong – it simply just is) that most people are unaware that they are ruled by ego without ever being present to that fact when someone is angry or upset with you or if someone hurts you, look beyond the action and see the real person, not who they are being at the time – that is true forgiveness. Be a stand for what is possible for those you love, see their greatness, even when they are not necessarily being that and don't judge them for not being that – accept and love them anyway.  Every  human being and every living thing is a gift to this world, treat them this way.

2. Education is the key and that is what my site is all about. I am intent on providing information from which people can take from it whatever serves them, leave what doesn't, but in the process hopefully be left in a position where they can make informed choices for their health – Health happens by choice, not by accident.

3. Consume, when possible, only certified organic food and use only certified organic products on your skin. Most people don't realise that the body will absorb chemicals around 10 times faster through their skin than through eating foods that contain chemicals and that's because the digestive enzymes in our digestive system break chemicals down, however, when we put products on our skin, it goes directly into our organs and bloodstream. According to the EWG, there are over 10,500 chemicals in our personal/self care items, of which only 13% over the past 30 years have been tested for safety! You can see my website for posts on this and also listen to my podcasts on chemicals at: I am excited to say that I am going to be undertaking some podcasts with incredible contributors on all things health very soon!

4. Don't make assumptions as assumptions ruin relationships – all you ever have to do is ask. Remember, when you get an answer that you don't necessarily like don't disregard it and make up your own answer just to justify yourself, accept the one you have been given and give up being right or proving someone else wrong.

5. Understand that your body is real, your mind is real but your thoughts are. Thoughts are merely words and words were made by man as a means to communicate. Unfortunately, we use words (thoughts) against ourselves "I am not good enough", "I am not worthy", "I don't deserve happiness". Don't live in the virtual reality of your mind – it's not a great place really! Be impeccable with your word – both toward yourself and to others.

How does yoga & meditation take place in your daily routine? What types of yoga & meditation do you do?

I meditate every morning for 25 minutes starting with 5 minutes of Pranayama (alternate nose breathing) and when possible I meditate of an evening.

“My goal is to share the benefits of certified organic as there is a huge mis-representation both here in Australia and internationally”

Often during my meditation, my little dog Tykey joins me and sits on my lap as we take time to be present to life and all its blessings.

I am blessed that I have a Healthspace clinic at the bottom of my street and I frequent that often. I practice Kundalini and Hatha yoga. I have my own sacred space, the place I meditate and do my own yoga at home in and love this space as it is my quiet time, a time of being totally present to life and to breath and a time for showing gratitude for all things that have occurred throughout my life and have contributed to who I am.

You are an ambassador for Australian Certified Organic – tell us the importance of trying to grow/purchase/eat organic products ?

I was chosen to be the Health and Wellbeing Ambassador for Australian Organic because of my passion for all things certified organic and because I live and breathe health and wellness in my everyday life. My goal is to share the benefits of certified organic as there is a & huge misrepresentation both here in Australia and internationally in relation to the use of the word "organic". "Organic" isn't truly organic as a company can claim something is organic if it contains one natural compound yet it may contain hundreds of the common nasty pesticides, insecticides, preservatives & or chemicals commonly found in conventional products. Did you know that in the cosmetic/personal/skin/ hair care products there are now over 10500 chemicals in use and according to the Environmental Working Group (EWG) only 13% of those 10500 chemicals have ever been tested over the last 30 years for their safety. Certified Organic is the only guarantee a consumer has in relation to the product being free of all of the nasties and & I cannot stress how important I believe it is to only consume certified organic foods and use certified organic products.

Most of the conventional produce that people consume is sprayed consistently with pesticides and insecticides. Broccoli for example is said to be sprayed a minimum of 16 times before it gets to the wholesaler.

It is so vitally important that people understand the need to only use certified organic skincare and personal care items on their body. On average most women put between 200-500 chemicals a day on their skin and 60-70% of what they put on their skin soaks into the bloodstream and organs. KORA Organics skincare is certified organic and is a great alternative to the typical traditional skincare that for the most part contains, just to mention a few nasty ingredients: TEA's, DEA's, Glycols, Parabens, Sulfates, pesticides, insecticides, Synthetic and Artificial Colours and Flavours,, Ethoxylates, Formaldehyde and Formaldehyde derivatives.

There is a big difference between certified organic and "organic" and the word "organic" is so misrepresented in society the world over. It is only certified organic that gives you the assurance of quality.
I am releasing around the end of February 2014 a certified organic personal care range.

Miranda wanted KORA Organics to only sell premium certified organic skincare, however, I wanted to release a healthy certified organic range of Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Silk, hand wash, hand lotion, deodorant, toothpaste and hand sanitiser and eventually we will also release a certified organic sunscreen and self tanning lotion.

Are there certain things you recommend to always try buy/grow organic?

Any packaged "fresh" produce, especially spinach and lettuce

Avoid any imported fresh produce

Berries – all types, Broccoli, apples, peaches, capsicum, celery, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, pears, grapes, spinach,  lettuce

If you are a meat eater, only ever eat certified organic chicken. There are girls as young as 8 now developing breasts and menstruating.

Through your journey you also share with this world the production of KORA Organics with your daughter Miranda, tell us how the idea was born and why?

Miranda was looking for certified organic skincare that contained all of the ingredients she personally wanted in a skincare range (especially Noni) and couldn't find one so she decided to create her own. Miranda became interested in health during the time I had tumours in my spleen and had my spleen removed. Up until then, I thought I was healthy, but I didn't realise how uneducated I was in relation to understanding what is actually in conventional products.

I was under the false assumption that the Government would not allow nasty ingredients to be included in our food and personal/self care items, that is definitely not the case. Education, as mentioned previously is the key to maturing and staying healthy and by education I mean education ourselves as to every aspect of our health: mental, physical, emotional and spiritual and that is my goal – to educate people as I have always been someone who was searching for that inner peace within, never truly knowing where to find it, and now, as a result of all of the work I have undertaken on myself on every level, I have a peace and an acceptance of life and everything that happens that radiates from the very core of my existence. My goal through the programs on my website is to "bottle that inner peace and share it with the world." It is there for everyone and all we need are the tools to unlock that peace from within ourselves.

I was the CEO of KORA Organics from February 2010 to January 2013 and I took the business from a small business to a medium sized entity before leaving it to expand other lines and to "walk my walk" in relation to living a balanced life. I now live my passion daily through my website and feel very honoured to have the opportunity to live my dream of making a difference, if only in some small way to other people's lives.

Now we’ve also seen some pictures of the Divine By Therese Kerr products, tell us ALL ABOUT IT PLEASE!!! Very excited...

The Divine By Therese Kerr certified organic range of products is a personal care range consisting of products that are complimentary (non competitive) to the KORA Organics product range.

KORA Organics has 21 skincare products and Miranda wanted to keep KORA Organics as a premium skincare line only. I wanted to create healthy, certified organic Toothpaste, Hand wash and Hand lotion for the sink, Sanitsing Hand Gel, Mouth Wash, Mouth Spray, Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Silk and deodorant as these typical household items are loaded with chemicals including TEA's, DEA's, Glycols, Parabens, Synthetic and Artifical Flavours and colours, GMO ingredients, Nano particles, Formaldehdye, Ethoxylates, Formaldehyde derivatives, pesticides and insecticides.  One of the most common ingredients that most of your readers will have heard of are Parabens, but do they really know what they are and what the detrimental impact of Parabens truly is on their health?

Here's a little bit of information:

Parabens are also known as Methylparaben, Propylparaben, IIsoparaben, Butylparaben. Parabens are a group of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. They have been linked to possible carcinogenic activity. When someone is being exposed to the continued use of parabens as preservatives, the parabens are believed to have an estrogenic impact on the body.  The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has linked methyl parabens in particular to metabolic, developmental, hormonal, and neurological disorders, as well as various cancers.

“Simply choosing 'health' even when you have a busy active life is the answer”

Studies have shown that the estrogenic affect in relation to the extended use of parabens can lead to diminished muscle mass, extra fat storage, and male gynecomastia (breast growth). Scientific studies have shown that estrogen stimulates breast cancer and anything absorbed through the skin may be as high as 10 times the concentration of an oral dose. There have been no successful studies to show that repeated and prolonged use of parabens is safe. Parabens are a low-cost synthetic preservative for which many large cosmetic brands have tried to fund studies in the hope of proving that prolonged usage is safe all studies have failed.

Parabens are used in over the counter personal products as a preservative to extend the shelf life of the product. These chemicals can be found in face, body moisturizers, body wash, deodorants and cleansers.”

Here is another ingredient that I find difficult to believe that it is included in most conventional toothpastes: Triclosan.

Triclosan is a registered pesticide. It is an antimicrobial active ingredient contained in a variety of products where it acts to slow or stop the growth of bacteria, fungi, and mildew.

Found in a large number of personal care products it is also apparently used in toothpaste to stop gingivitis. Brushing your teeth with any toothpaste containing Triclosan can expose you to the harmful effects which include impaired heart and muscle function and hypothyroidism. If parents knew what was in their toothpaste they would not allow their children to suck on toothbrushes and leave this chemical-laden concoction in their mouths.

Unfortunately the mucous membranes in the mouth allow the chemicals to be absorbed much quicker than through the digestive system. The digestive system by virtue of the digestive enzymes has the ability to somewhat break down the chemicals, whereas when the chemicals bypass this entire digestive process, i.e. When they are administered to, or absorbed either through the mouth or skin, it is reported that the chemicals in the products can be absorbed by the body up to 10 times quicker.

What products will be available? When is it launching? Where will it be available?
