What: DETOX YOUR HOME – NOURISH MELBOURNE

When: SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER

More: Unlike the food we ingest (which goes through a digestion process), the chemicals and toxic ingredients that may be lurking in your household cleaning products and day-to-day skincare products are either inhaled or absorbed straight into your blood stream, leaving no chance for your body to excrete them as required. Instead, the build up of ‘toxic load’ to your body adds up over the years, and can result in hormone disturbances, allergies, weight-gain, chronic disease and infertility, to name a few. And Amanda Muir and Danielle Glover of Melbourne made and owned natural and organic skincare brand, DnA Elements, together with Pearl Chan, Founder of Resparkle certified organic home cleaning products, are here to spread very important information to you all – information, which is the reason that led these women to create their own natural and organic skincare and cleaning brands.

As one of Australia’s leading providers of chemical free household products, and one of Australia’s leading and innovative certified organic product manufacturers, Naturally home and Divine By Therese Kerr have come together to exclusively screen The Human Experiment, a powerful documentary that tells the personal stories of people who believe their lives have been affected by toxic chemicals.

What: Use meditation to visualise your dreams

When: Friday August 8

More: This workshop is for you if you've been thinking about taking up meditation to give your mind a break from a busy life. Meditation is a tool also used by many successful entrepreneurs to help them come up with creative solutions in their businesses. The lunchtime workshop will be run by Araya Elise Green, who has a successful organic skincare company, and first started meditating at the age of 5 in her native Thailand. She will share some of the methods she has used to visualise and create her business in Melbourne. She believes that anyone can be taught how to train their brain and use visualisation for business success. Time invested in meditating regularly will help you awaken your creative mind, and come up with ideas and solutions to problems that pop up in every day life. She will also talk about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and mindset. Araya will lead a ten minute meditation as part of the workshop. There will be a special guest who took up meditation recently for the first time and she will share her experience on so far, and answer your questions over a cup of tea if you have time to stay for longer than an hour. Last but not least, this casual workshop is also all about connecting with like-minded and creative people who are all around us, but we don't always stop to notice. Hope to see you there!

Wake Up Be Am:azing week is launching on May 10 through to May 16 at Yoga 213, Melbourne’s finest  (and only!) hip hop yoga studio. Melburnians are invited, whether they’re beginners or yoga pros, to come along to any morning yoga class and enjoy a morning hip-hop yoga session followed by an organic yoghurt and granola breakfast, so they can kick start their day the right way. Participants will also receive goodie bags to take home.

Wake Up Be Am:azing is all about inspiring people to embrace the early morning, get active, grab a nutritional breakfast, and seize the day. It’s all about investing time in you: going for a run, practicing yoga, setting goals, meditating, or anything that enhances personal wellbeing. And what better way to work on you than with a hip-hop yoga session followed by a delicious organic breakfast?

five:am organics founder David Prior is big on innovation and he embodies the Wake Up Be Am:azing philosophy. David has also has been into yoga and meditation for over 15 years, which is why partnering with Yoga 213 was a natural fit for this initiative.Yoga is one of the best thought-clearing exercises you can do to kick off the day positively. Hip hop music helps people relax, while also getting them more energised and happy because hip hop promotes dancing and movement.

The week kick starts on May 10 and yoga and breakfast will be available every morning through to the 16th. Classes run from 6:45 on weekdays and 9 on the weekend. Check the Yoga 213 website for the timetable. What: Natural, Baby – Preconception Health Care

When: Saturday May 17 and Saturday May 21

More: You’re thinking about it, you’re planning to try for one, or perhaps you want one right this second. A baby, that is. What do you do first? Go to the Doctor? Ask your close girlfriends or female family members who’ve already been there for pre-conception advice? Or just cut down on the alcohol and start exercising more? Preconception health care should ideally start at least one year before you plan to conceive, or longer if possible. If this isn’t you and you’re in the ‘I want one right now’ stage, there are plenty of practical steps you can take right now to improve pre-conception health and chances of natural conception. Or, if you’re reading this and have been referred to IVF, or are about to start IVF, this workshop is also for you. Nourish Melbourne is proud to present Dr Amanda Waaldyk, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner, Acupuncturist and Yoga Teacher, in an intimate, women’s only, Saturday afternoon workshop, where the four stages of natural conception will be discussed and shared with you.

What: FASHION REVOLUTION DAY - MELBOURNE

It is a local way for people to be involved and learn more.
