WHAT –  Mind Waves Group Hypnosis w/ Flute Sound Healing - Trust Yourself & Others
WHEN  –  Saturday 10 October

“Trust your hunches. They’re usually based on facts filed away just below the conscious level” - Dr. Joyce Brothers

In this group hypnosis and sound healing, we will work together to gain the keys to trust others, our intuition and the decisions we make from within. We will dialogue to remove the blocks for you to become more confident in your personal choices. This workshop will include tools for restoring trust and relieving anxiety around trusting yourself. You will embark on seeing your present and future path as you would like to create or shift it from your current perspective. This group hypnosis is designed to help if you have reached a crossroads,  are in a holding pattern, or are experiencing ambivalence towards the next step in an area of your life. The hypnosis tools provided will support you in creating trust in your decision making process, thus creating a sense of serenity in your daily life. When you trust yourself, you can genuinely feel empowered, stronger and authentically happier. All issues related to trusting yourself are welcome!

The hypnosis led by Morgan Yakus will be accompanied with flute by Dana Kline. The flute is a vessel that animates breath and offers guidance towards imagination, memory retrieval, personal reflection and relaxation. Since at least 40,000 years ago, sound healing has been practiced by indigenous peoples, and it was Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras who employed "music as medicine". Dana will offer an aural incantation to support this workshop experience by complimenting the calming, restorative somatic responses in the parasympathetic system resulted from the hypnotherapy process.

What is Hypnosis ?

The most accurate way to define hypnosis is to compare it to an interactive guided meditation. It is a natural state of mind. You don't have to work hard for hypnotherapy to be effective. In fact, just the opposite is true. All you need to do is relax and let it happen. Resolution and freedom can result in a healthier body, mind and spirit. It is an altered state of consciousness and invites a heightened responsiveness to suggestion. Hypnosis is designed to communicate with the subconscious mind using images, sounds and feelings. While in this state you are fully in control and are aware of every moment you are creating.

Morgan Yakus

lives in New York and is a bicoastal practitioner who facilitates integrative hypnosis, past life regression and Akashic Records readings and workshops. From textile tapestries to states of subconscious narratives, Morgan has journeyed from the world of innovative fashion design to her present souls's calling as an intuitive healer. Through the carrier of hypnotherapy and past life regressions. She creates a safe, loving and curious space for the client to explore ancestral story, release unwanted thought patterns and correct unhealthy habits into compassionate and empowering behavior. Seeking to serve as authentic as a vessel for healing through an open transparent dialog with the client. Morgan is also a certified holistic health coach and is dedicated to sharing the healing properties of Chinese tonics to the Western world after studying with Dragon Herbs founder Ron Teeguarden. She is a Board certified hypnotist, NLP practitioner and received certification in past life regression with Brian Weiss (who wrote many lives many masters).

Dana Kline

, PhD candidate, holds a masters degree in depth psychology counseling and a bachelors degree in creative writing. She is also a flute player for over twenty five years and continues to play for its playful, transcendental, and hypnotic healing insights. She resides in Santa Monica, CA.

Raw or Not To Raw ?

WHAT – Raw Vs Cooked Food & Organic vs. Non Organic Foods
WHEN –  Sunday 30 August

Raw food vs. Cooked Food & Organic vs. Non Organic Foods

By Mark Doneddu - President of Vegetarian Victoria

One of the fastest growing food trends in the world is the Raw Food movement. However there has been little spoken about the science of why people have achieved amazing improvements in health by adopting this diet.

This talk presents a lot of the scientific research on this subject. It also explains the reasons why many thrive on this diet and yet others do not. Recent media reports conceded that there lower pesticides in organic produce compared to conventional produce but yet also reported that there is little difference in the mineral an vitamin content.

The evidence regarding this subject as well as that surrounding Genetically Modified Foods will also be discussed.

The presentation will focus on;
• Do increased levels of lycopene obtained from cooked tomatoes compared to raw tomatoes result in greater levels of health?
• How important are the enzymes in raw food?
• What exactly is destroyed through cooking?
• Why do some many raw vegan athletes achieve amazing results and yet some people struggle on the same diet?
• Are all raw diets the same and can some raw foods eaten in excess be detremental?
• What are the benefits of cooked vegan foods?

$15 with a Mantra Lounge meal.

Truth About The War On Drugs

WHAT – The True Story of The War on Drugs Johann Hari Live! + Panel with MC Helen Kapalos
WHEN –  Wednesday 9 September

In the one hundred years since drugs were banned in the USA, the ‘War on Drugs’ has incarcerated millions, persecuted more and irreversibly altered the lives of people around the globe.

Often the justification for the 'drug war' has lacked any credible scientific or social substance, driven on by propaganda and blind political manoeuvring, masquerading as a ‘moral’ war.

This is the narrative that journalist Johann Hari, best-selling author of Chasing the Scream completely deconstructs.

In a deeply thought-provoking talk titled The True Story of The War on Drugs & the Myth of Addiction, Hari gives his account of an epic three year journey into discovering the hidden truth behind the war on drugs and addiction, debunking the lies we have been told by those most invested in this crusade against our civil liberties.

After his talk Johann will join MC Helen Kapalos and a live expert panel discussion of eminent influences in the fields of addiction, law enforcement and medicine including Greg Denham (LEAP), Fiona Patten (The Australian Sex Party), Annie Madden (AIVL) and more to be announced.

Please join us for this exclusive Melbourne event as Hari brings his radical reasoning to Australia.

WHEN  –  Sunday 13 September - BOOK NOW

Wanderlust 108 is a triathlon unlike any you’ve ever known. Unlike most triathlons, we place community above competition, inner peace above power, and self-awareness above strength. We prefer slow food to fast run times. For us, winning is measured in laughs shared and new friends made.

And unlike many events offering yoga and meditation, we combine our practice with a whole lot of fun. While we’re pretty sure you’ll be challenged during the day, we are equally sure you’ll have a great time doing so. From live bands and DJs on our main stage, to lawn activities like hooping, slacklining and acroyoga, to our local food and craft vendors, there’s a lot to do when you’re not on your mat.

WHAT –  Brooklyn Grange Flagship Farm Open House Tour
WHEN  –  Wednesday 2 Sept - BOOK NOW

September is the month of epic harvests.  We spend the summer counting the days until our favorite crops are in season: from crisp, flavorful greens to super-sweet, vine-ripened tomatoes, pungent peppers, tangy ground cherries, creamy eggplant, fragrant basils the list goes on.

When the food is this fresh and the harvest this diverse, who needs meat!?  Not us, nor any of the five amazing chefs we've enlisted, each of whom will put their unique spin on our rooftop crops.

Dinner will start with a cocktail hour during which guests can sip on a summery garden-to-glass cocktail and snack on pickled veggies while watching the sun set over our stunning Manhattan skyline view.  We'll then move on to a family-style, four-course dinner served down the length of a gorgeous banquet table.

In the spirit of the diversity of September's harvest, and as a nod to an old family tradition, we ask that everyone bring their own plate! Harvest is all about sharing with community and your plates will add color and a bit of your personality to our table, so dig deep into those cabinets and grab your favorite dish.

Ngawang Jorden was born to a Mompa mother in Tawang, birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama.  He attended the Sera Monastery and currently lives in Boston.  As a Tibetan political activist and community organizer, Jorden interprets current and historic socio-political events and human behavior in combination with ideas from his life as a shepherd, monk, a stupa builder and carpenter.  Through his artwork, Jorden tells the story of humans trapped in samsara, repeating the same actions under different circumstances at different points in time.

WHEN –  Thursday 20 August

Each state of human consciousness yields a corresponding objective experience. In our culture it seems that fear has a tendency to predominate on the inner plane; the fear of growing old, fear of death, change, running late, missing out, rejection, failure, letting go, the list goes on!

The great sages of antiquity have taught that all fear is ultimately illusory, held in place largely by the minds false interpretation of reality. At the core of life and at the core of our being lies a sacred power and once we are able to truly align with this power all fear and worry drops away like old skin, replaced by an incredible lightness of being.
We are blessed to have a great living Vedic Master, Thom Knoles, share a revolutionary discourse guaranteed to raise your spirits as he masterfully decodes the human condition, demystifies enlightenment and lays out a path for awakening your mind and heart, thus accelerating your movement into a life lived in complete fearlessness.
About Thom
Thom Knoles is a highly esteemed thought-leader, Vedic Meditation teacher and celebrated speaker on consciousness, health, the brain and human potential. He's one of the few westerners to have attained the prestigious title of Maharishi (pre-eminent master-teacher and authority on Vedic science and spirituality). Thom travels the globe lecturing, teaching and consulting. He has worked along side Deepak Chopra and has tens of thousands of personally-taught students worldwide ranging from young children, celebrities, heads of state, nobel Peace prize laureate.

Bone Broth

WHAT – The Bone Broth Essentials Workshop, Prahran
WHEN –  Thursday 30 July

Join us for an intimate Bone Broth work-shop at Paleo Den in Prahran.

Bone broth is an ancestral superfood; cheap, versatile, healing and extremely nutrient dense. It’s easy and affordable to prepare at home. Not only does broth enhance your health and wellbeing but it adds wonderful flavour to all sorts of home cooked meals. It's also an amazing beauty food: your skin will thank you for the gelatine and collagen you get from the broth!

The benefits of broth explained by author by Sally Fallon:

“Stock contains minerals in a form the body can absorb easily—not just calcium but also magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sulfur and trace minerals. It contains the broken down material from cartilage and tendons--stuff like chondroitin sulphates and glucosamine, now sold as expensive supplements for arthritis and joint pain.”

You get to enjoy a warm cup of broth as well as a small pack of frozen bones from grassfed beef to take home. You will also receive a PDF-eGuide.

We keep the work-shop small so the participants get a chance to ask plenty of questions and demystify the process of cooking their own bone broth. Places are therefore limited to 10 participants.

Composting With Worms

WHAT –  The Ecology Centre Presents: Composting With Worms, Irvine
WHEN  –  Sunday 5 July

Divert waste from the landfill and create nutrient rich compost for your plants. Learn the basics of odor and pest free vermicomposting for any size home!

Home produced kitchen food scraps make up almost 15% of the U.S. waste stream! (measured in pounds of waste and not accounting for the water, energy and other natural, financial and human resources involved in the production and treatment of wasted food). This waste stream amounts to 20% of landfill-caused methane, a gas that is produced by improper decomposition and has a 25 times higher impact on climate change than carbon dioxide.

Composting is simply the most environmental solution to inevitable home kitchen food waste! Anyone can implement it at their home. Vermicomposting, composting with worms, produces the best quality compost (worm castings, vermicompost or “garden black gold”) in a relatively fast time. It is easy, cheap, odor free, pest free, sustainable, and can be done inside the house also! In the garden, vermicompost is used for soil fertility, plant vibrancy, and pest management.

If every household in the U.S. would vermicopmost kitchen food scraps for one year, a quarter of the U.S. agricultural compost needs would meet for that year!

Join us to learn how to transform kitchen food scraps into the best organic fertilizer for your plants! In this workshop you will learn:

  • Important food waste problems and solutions that impact us all
  • Basics of various composting methods, structures and compost uses
  • In-depth effective vermicomposting, including small-scale and large-scale operations

Participants will take home composting worms, and have the opportunity to purchase The Ecology Center inexpensive worm bins to start a zero food waste zone at their home!

Mindfulness Workshop

WHAT –  Mindfulness Workshop: A Wider Mind, Shoreditch
WHEN  –  Tuesday 14 July

“..imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world....” Albert Einstein

A talk on the relationship between mindfulness and creativity, including an introduction to some simple mindfulness techniques.

Apple, Microsoft, Google, Twitter, Facebook and even some fine old English institutions including the Bank of England, BP and the Department of Business & Innovation have all introduced regular mindfulness training for their staff partly in an effort to reduce stress and help their people to be more productive but more importantly to encourage them to be more open-minded and therefore more creative.

Our minds can all too easily fall into a circular habit of worrying about the past or scheming about the future and all the time miss out on the present moment – the place where we can make the most impact. Mindfulness techniques are designed to make us that bit more aware of whats going on and slowly begin to come out of the habit.

Drawing on examples from Sport, Music and Technology Startups, this talk will also focus on the use of mindfulness to increase the very human urge to express, create and imagine. In the words of Larry Page, Google Co-Founder “...if you're not doing some things in your life that are crazy, then you're doing the wrong things...”

Eoin O'Floinn has been a mindfulness teacher for the past 3 years having left the corporate world in 2006 to travel throughout India and the Far East to explore holistic medicine, yoga and meditation.

A sacred circle of six women, representing the six directions - South, West, North, East, Below (Pachamama) and Above (Cosmos). Join us as we learn about the native ceremony of soul retrieval and remember our birthright. Each individual will receive a Soul Retrieval Ceremony and Soul Remembering. Together we will explore our inner garden as the heartbeat of Mother Earth takes us into an altered state on a Shamanic Drum Journey. Through this newfound wisdom and expanded perception, we will release the past through the creation of a driftwood Talisman and plant seeds that represent the flowers - of our heart, our dreams, our visions, our spirit. Come together as we support one another in community, as a soul family, coming home to the truth and divine essence that lives within us.

We will gather in a beautiful, modern treehouse nestled in the woods of Amagansett, New York. Lunch will be lovingly prepared by Heather of Eat Real Food using locally sourced, seasonal nourishment. If you are traveling from a distance and interested in staying on the grounds, we are offering 2 nights stay with 6 meals included (breakfast, lunch + dinner). Before and after class, enjoy a nature walk, a soak in the pool and Earth-friendly accommodations in the heart of the Hamptons. This ceremony is open to 6 women. Please bring: water bottle, blanket/mat/pillows to lay on, journal & writing instrument and any personal, sacred items for our altar.

Soul retrieval is an individual ceremony to call back soul pieces that have left us and traveled to Pachamama for protection. It is believed that when we suffer shock from an emotional or physical trauma a part of our soul, our light essence, flees the body in order to survive the experience. This ceremony is for individuals who seek to live in wholeness and spiritual harmony, to live in alignment with their souls path and remember the gifts they were born with. This ceremony was passed onto Maggie through the lineage of the Qero Indians of Peru and the modern-day teachings of her mentor and teacher, Sandra Ingerman. This ceremony involves the use of native sound including drum, rattle and bells and the smoke of sacred plant spirit, Palo Santo. To learn more, Soul Retrieval Ceremony

WHAT:  Composting With Worms

DATE:  Saturday 18 July - Book Now

MORE: Divert waste from the landfill and create nutrient rich compost for your plants.

This waste stream amounts to 20% of landfill-caused methane, a gas that is produced by improper decomposition and that has a 25 times higher impact on climate change than carbon dioxide.

Composting is the simplest most environmental solution to inevitable home kitchen food waste!

Patterns that subconsciously inhibit an individual from living life spontaneously, like a 'Knee jerk reaction' to situations in our daily lives.

These patterns are known as Sanskaras. Negative Sanskaras hold us back. Positive ones help us to move towards our goals. Let's empower that process in this meditation.

Mohan's meditations are extremely powerful, transformative and provide assistance in making meaningful shifts in the lives of the meditator.

These series of meditations are such as they are empowered by Energy (Reiki) and assist the participants to move towards their personal goals. This has been the sharing and feedback from the participants .

No ordinary meditations....because YOU are no ordinary person.

We will be doing a guided meditation that intends to empower the 5 elements of the body/aura and thus empowering areas in our life that need it right now.
